PEOSelect.com - Malware - Virus Experience

StaffMarket.com employees have noticed that the website peoselect.com attempts to download malicious software onto users computers. Virus scanners installed at StafMarket detected a malicious program call JS/Wonka that was hosted on the peoselect.com website. Simply opening a web page from this site caused anitvirus software to halt the attack caused by visiting this website.

According to McAfee.com and websense.com the attempt infection from peoselect.com was site:

• Sites that have been compromised where, within the compromised site the attacker has placed encoded JavaScript (usually in an IFRAME) that attempts to exploit visitors by installing malicious code upon site access. Most popular are Trojan Horse Droppers and Downloader’s. NOTE: In some cases the JavaScript may also be transparently redirecting them to a site which contains exploit code. The owner of the site does not know this is happening.
• Sites that use encoded JavaScript intentionally in order to install malicious code through an exploit (most popular are Spyware installers). The owner of the site is the one who published the code also.

Visitors to peoselect.com should use caution and ensure that their antivirus software is up todate with the latest antivirus software signature files.

Further research show that address listed as the office for peoselect.com is also the address for many business that appear to be using the address as a business front. A Google search of their address shows 10 pages of business all using the same address and often the same suite number 1. Business owners seeking a PEO are advised to use caution with this "company". Additional research shows that the domain owner is hidden and no records are available for the existance of a legitimate company or it's ownership.
