UPDATE: This company has modified their EE count and payroll estimates to 13 EEs and around $1,000,000 in total gross payroll.This is a small contract drilling operation that is actually based in TX, not CO. The contact, who is an employee of the private equity firm that owns this company, is based in CO. They have been operating for 4 years but only utilized 1099s in the field. They are now wanting to add 3-4 W2 employees initially, and grow to as many as 12-15. They will be drilling in TX, OK, NM. This company is owned by a private equity firm that is looking at Professional Employer Organization as a way to provide separation from the other commonly owned assets. The contact has confirmed with me that each of the yard employees will be making $120,000/yr but she is working to confirm the payroll figures for the drilling employees. She hopes to have those figures by Monday I will forward that info once confirmed. Please find the current W/Comp docs and memo describing their situation in more detail, attached to this RFP.

This company is an Oilfield Service company in which the primary focus is the hauling/transporting of fluids, drilling muds, salt water, and oilfield waste water. They pick up the fluids and haul them to various oilfield disposal sites. In addition to the oilfield water/waste they are hauling generators and compressors. They also have containment mats as well as some power-washing/cleaning equipment that they use to clean up equipment and tanks on locations. When an oil rig is ready to be broken down and hauled to a new site, the insured will power wash the rig before it is loaded to be moved. One of their major clients requires all vendors to have a MOD of 1.00 or less. They were able to get AIG to blend their LA and TX MOD together last year and it came out to .99. However, their MOD is now 1.47 and can no longer be blended. So they are now looking into utilizing a Professional Employer Organization that can show them as having a MOD of 1.00 or lower. I have several underwriting documents attached, i.g., ACORD, LRs, MOD worksheet, audit reports, current dec, etc. They need to make a change over by 10/14/16. This company is a full service environmental drilling & excavation contractor with vertical and horizontal drill rigs, excavators, bulldozers, etc. They drill monitor wells, water wells, and horizontal environmental wells. They also excavate contaminated soil and backfill with clean soil. They had one EE that made W/C claims each of the last three years, and it has resulted in 1.31 W/C EMR. That employee is no longer with the company. However, the company needs to show a lower EMR before it starts to lose contracts for them. The company is the owner of a uranium mine that is about to go public. At this point, all of the employees are 1099 and need to convert to W2s. Their motivation for looking at Professional Employer Organization is the outsourcing of HR/payroll admin and putting together a competitive benefits compensation package to attract the additional EEs that will be needed after the offering. They expect to hire an additional 8 to 15 EEs after the offering. Right now, they have 4 8810 EEs in their corp office and 4 8607 EEs in their field office. All core drilling is done by contractors and when mining operations begin, all work will be done by contractors. The 8607 EEs are involved with oversight and sample analysis. Company is in the Oil and Gas exploration business. They do no drilling or field work. The employees consist of 5 clerical positions and 1 Geologist. The Geologist is responsible for reviewing data supplied to him to determine the most productive areas for drilling.
